Founded in 2000, the school has gone from strength to strength. Pupils who attend OSD can expect to enjoy their lessons which they will find challenging, fun and rewarding. The school is friendly and inclusive.

All pupils have the opportunity to perform in biennial shows which are hugely popular and successful. Jacqui has abridged and choreographed classical ballets such as The Nutcracker, Coppelia and Cinderella, and the Ashton ballets La fille mal gardée and Beatrix Potter for shows which also include a wide range of Contemporary, Jazz and Tap.

In its 25 years the school can boast a succession of pupils who have gone on to pursue a dance career, gaining places to study at prestigious vocational schools such as The Royal Ballet School, London Contemporary Dance School, Royal Academy of Dance and Trinity Laban Conservatoire, as well as to study dance at universities such as Roehampton and Northampton.

Many students have successfully auditioned for short/long term courses with English Youth Ballet, National Youth Ballet, Royal Ballet Associates, London Studio Centre Associates and Norfolk Scholars. Ballet is taught using Royal Academy of Dance syllabuses,Tap and Jazz from the syllabuses of The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance.

R.A.D. R.T.S, Dip L.C.D.D., BA (Hons)

Jacqui trained at the London College of Dance and Drama and the Royal Academy of Dance. After teaching ballet in London and Antwerp she studied contemporary dance and went on to perform with Cheshire Dance Workshops at Chester Gateway Theatre. She joined Ludus Dance Company touring England, the Edinburgh Festival and later joined the dance company in residence at Crewe and Alsager College Cheshire.

Jacqui taught dance at Mid Cheshire College and The Higginshaw Centre for the Performing Arts, Oldham. She went on to work for Avon Dance Association. Jacqui created contemporary dance pieces for performance at Bristol Hippodrome and later worked for Colchester Youth Arts training company.

She started her first dance school in Llangollen, North Wales.

Having moved to Norfolk with her family, Jacqui founded The Oakley School of Dance in 2000.

I.S.T.D. DDE R.A.D. R.T.S

Toni started Ballet at the age of 2, with The Coral Stebbings School of Theatre Dance, going on to do jazz, tap & modern performing at Snape Maltings and the London Palladium. At 17 Toni began helping in the dance school teaching the younger students.

She furthered her education at The Centre for Performing Arts in London gaining DDE’s in Ballet Tap and Modern.

Toni went on to teach exam classes and choreographed for competitionsand performances at The Royal Albert Hall, Disneyland Paris & Porteventura in Spain.

Toni has a passion for choreography and has choreographed for Diss panto, OSD shows and recent performances at Banham Zoo. She likes to have lots of fun in her classes along with hard work believing  that everyone learns differently and that everyone should have the opportunity to dance and perform.
